For experienced IELTS teachers, have we ever found a formula that helped predict success?
1. For example, "for every extra point you want to gain, you must study ____ hours of input.
So, to go from 5.0 to 6.0, you should increase your drill time an extra _____ minutes a day, for at least _____ days.
2. I predict that such a formula:
a. Can be used in a specific skill set rather than the general score (listening vs. General score)
b. Score variations of 0.5 can fluctuate from test to test, but a 1.0 gain or more is a real accomplishment
c. While the curruclum for each section is differentiated (prep for listening vs. prep for writing), the same sort of linear development applies. The more preparation, the better the skill gets, the better performance gets, the higher the average score.
d. Although hours could be done in a single session, the daily practice will help user confidence, and general skill development.
